Our teachers have both university training and extensive performance experience. With multiple teachers for Guitar, Voice, Piano, Violin, Drums and Ukulele, we are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your needs. Our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn.

4. Free Recitals twice a year!
Every April and December, our students have the option of performing in our recitals. S.W.M. School of Music recitals are absolutely free to all eligible students and their families. Most other places charge fees to participate in their recitals
5. Month to month lessons. No costly semester or annual contracts!
Our music school does not require semester minimums or yearly membership fees. Our students are here on a month to month basis. For adult students who have busy work schedules etc., we can put together a custom program of lessons to meet your busy schedule. We know some of our adult students travel or have shifting work schedules. No problem! We work with you to find lesson days/times that meet your schedule! We want you at our school because you like your music lessons, not because you’ve signed a contract!
6. We teach all styles of music
This includes Rock, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Country, and more. At many other places the teachers only know one style - the old way they were taught. Private lessons are customized to each students style and pace.
7. Rock Band Classes! Learn to play in a real Band!
Rock Band 101 is a group program that places kids in age appropriate and skill level rock bands where they are coached by S. W. Michigan's experienced professionals. Each band learns to play 3 to 5 cover songs during a 12 week semester. At the end of the 12 weeks the bands play a concert for family, friends and the general public.
8. We specialize in music lessons for all beginners and kids!
Many schools have an intimidating university style curriculum taught by instructors who would rather be performing than teaching. Our number one priority is helping music students achieve their musical goals. If you’re a beginner or are looking for music lessons for your kids, or even an adult who wants to get back into lessons, we are thrilled to accommodate you!
9. A professional school with fully equipped lesson studios
Our School is stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including guitar and bass amps, drum sets, full lighted stage area, computers/tablets, keyboards, pianos and more. All you need to bring is your instrument. We have invested thousands of dollars on our school to offer soundproofing and observation windows.
10. Friendly onsite office staff here to assist you
Many music schools are staffed only by the teacher or more commonly: Voicemail. We have office managers who are available at the front desk to assist our clients.
11. Comfortable waiting room for parents and students
Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, or someone’s kitchen, our clients enjoy a spacious, professional waiting room with comfortable chairs, free WiFi, magazines, water fountain, etc. We also provide observation windows in every room so that you can watch your child’s music lesson. If you prefer, you can sit in on their music lesson anytime you like.

We know you are busy. We don’t mind staying open late for you or your family. We are open until 8, sometimes 9 P.M. Monday through Friday
14. Early lesson times for home schoolers, retirees, college students & parents
Since we are the fastest growing, we are able to be a ‘full service’ music school. This allows us to offer lessons as early as 10:00 a.m. and we see many students between the hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are a home school parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our early morning and lunch time lesson spots.
